62 yr old woman with shortness of breath.

What does the chest radiograph show ?

Multiple round lesions of varying sizes. A number of lesions are cavitating.

What are the possible causes ?

This is cavitating metastases from endometrial carcinoma.

There are multiple causes of cavitating lung lesions including :

infection, metastases, infarction (septic embolic), wegners granulomatosis, sarcoidosis
