5 year old boy with hip pain.

Answers

What does the film show?

The right femoral epiphysis appears sclerotic and smaller than the left (it appears 'flattened').

What is the diagnosis ?

Perthes Disease affecting the right hip (= Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease).

Perthes disease is avascular necrosis of the femoral head.

What further view helps to make the diagnosis ?
