What is the mechanism of injury ?

These type of fractures are usually due to sudden / violent muscle contraction and occur in young people. The sartorius muscle and tensor fasciae latae attach at the ASIS.

After healing this type of injury may show a characteristic appearance - what would you expect to see ?

These fractures (and other apophyseal fractures of the pelvis) often heal with extensive calcification.
