History :
A child presents with shortness of breath and fever.

Answers :

Describe the findings on the radiograph ?

There is a round area of opacification in the right upper lobe (consolidation).

What is the diagnosis ?

Round pneumonia. Areas of round consolidation can mimic a mass. This is a more common appearance in children than in adults but can occur in adults. The organism is often Streptococcus, Pneumocococcus or Haemophilus.
